A Holy Spirit

Dec. 5
May the Spirit give us Wisdom, Counsel, Strength, Justice, and Faithfulness.

We are nothing, but an empty shell without the Holy Spirit within. We are as in the Hebrew language a vessel. A vessel is only worth what it holds within it and of ourselves we are only emptiness. We are only flesh that is withering away with the passing away of time, but we may be born of the Spirit that never dies. The Holy Spirit is a direct line to Jesus Christ Himself who sits at the right hand of our true Father in Heaven petitioning on our behalf. The Spirit is Truth because He is untouched by any earthly influence. He reveals to us what the Father tell Him to reveal, and our Father in Heaven far from all the impurities of this world. Even Jesus Christ waited for Him, before He began His ministry. John the Baptist recognized Him as the Son of God when He saw the Holy Spirit decending upon Him as a dove. Without the Holy Spirit of God we have the power to do nothing and with Him all things are possible.
There was a time when the Spirit was not poured out upon the earth, before the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ was revealed to man. It was foretold in Isa. 11:1-6 "And there shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a Branch(we are the vines)out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him(Jesus Christ)--the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Might, the Spirit of Knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord--And shall make Him of quick understanding(He preached in His youth at the Temple), and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness and justice shall He judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek, the poor, and the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall smite the earth and the oppressor with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of His waist and Faithfulness the girdle of His loins. And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion and the fatted domestic animal together; and a little child shall lead them." Now some of these verses deal with Christs Second Coming, but it clearly points to His first coming also and the Holy Spirit given to Him. Then there is the day of Pentecost, which is also a day celebrated by the Jewish people, although I cannot recall the name or reason right now without looking it up. The point is that God chose this day to release the gift of His Spirit upon the earth at a time that would be celebrated by both the Jew and Gentile. Acts 2:12-19 "And all were beside themselves with amazement and were puzzled and bewildered, saying one to another, What can this mean? But others made a joke of it and derisively said, They are simply drunk and full of sweet wine. But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them: You Jews and all you residents of Jerusalem, let this be[explained] to you so that you will know and understand; listen closely to what I have to say. For these men are not drunk, as you imagine, for it is [only] the third hour(the day begins at 6am and then you add to that, so it would be 6+3am=9am)of the day; But [instead] this is [the beginning of] what was spoken through the prophet Joel(Joel 2:28-29 "And afterward I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophecy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. Even upon the menservants and upon the maidservants in those days will I pour out My Spirit...): And it shall come to pass in the last days, God declares, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons and your daughters shall prophecyand your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. Yes, and on My menservants also and on My maidservants in those days I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophecy. And I will show wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth beneath, blood and fire and smoking vapor;" All I can say is WOW! That we can hold Gods Word in our hand and be indwelt by His Spirit are Miracles in themselves.
So often we ask for God and that is good, but we need to know without a doubt that God is within each of us. He(Holy Spirit, yet Triune are One) guides us, He teaches us, He convicts us, He encourages us, He renews us, He points us to the Cross, He is a Spiritual sign that we belong to God, and He is the signature in our hearts that makes us living proof of the Gospel of Christ.

Peace and Love to you all
